Principal's Message
The Psalmist acknowledged that “the
heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his
hands” (Psalm 19:1). The universe and everything in creation is a
challenge of discovery for humans. At Arlington Christian School, we
are excited about this journey of learning, nurturing and maturing.
In 1959, as Arlington was being born,
the school’s first headmaster, Commander Owens, used Luke 2:52 to
capture the mission for the school. Now, 46 years later, that same
whole-person mission continues - helping children grow as Jesus in
wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. ACS is serious about
providing the safe, quality academic and extra-curricular environment
required to equip children to mature to choose to love God and to
choose to spend their lives serving others.
Led by a dedicated and talented
faculty, Arlington has been accredited for nearly 30 years by the
prestigious Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and with
quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. With 40% of our faculty
holding masters degrees or higher and with an average teaching
experience of more than 13 years, the teachers at ACS are committed to
close, caring relationships with the students, recognizing the
responsibility of Jesus’ observation that “a student is not above his
teacher; everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher” (Luke
6:40).
As an interscholastic member of the
Georgia Independent School Association, Arlington students benefit
from a well-rounded and balanced nurturing experience through a full
range of athletic and literary competitions. Arlington is simply a
great place to grow up – physically, spiritually, academically and
socially. It has been said that “a school is four walls with the
future inside.” ACS is a school family providing children with the
foundational and college preparatory skills to explore their future.
Come, grow with us.
