Students Participate in Music Festival
Arlington
Christian School piano students recently participated in a Georgia Music
Teachers Association (GMTA) music festival. Nathalie Moore, Joseph
Biggers, Daniel Latzanich and Taylor Meeks are pupils of LuAnn
Latzanich. All four received a
“superior” which is the highest rating. The first three played the
piano, and Taylor played her own composition, “The Mississippi River.”
Ryan Cunningham (pictured below), a senior and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Randy
Cunningham, played French horn in the 2005 Georgia Independent School
Association (GISA) All-Select Honor Band. The concert was held in
Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell and featured musicians
from 48 schools throughout the state in the honor band,
chorus, and orchestra performances.
Conducted by Vince Rosse, the band played “A Tribute to Grainger,” “He’s
Gone Away,” “Persistence,” and “Carnival in Sao Paulo.”
ACS Band Director, Frank Buttrey, nominated Ryan and accompanied him to
the rehearsals.
