Ministry Philosophy
We are working diligently to make Arlington Christian School not
only a safe and healthy educational environment but also a powerful
spiritual resource. We are proud that Arlington is not just a private
college-prep school, but is also an independent Christian school. Our
goal, of course, is to provide a quality education in a Christian
environment. Our mission is that your child will “grow as Jesus did in
wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).
Furthermore, we believe the saying is true, “It does not simply matter
what you know, but also Who you know.” We want your children not only
to know the Word of God but also to know the God of the Word and His
Son Jesus Christ. Our success has been evidenced by the countless
students who have chosen to love God and who have determined to live
their lives in service to their fellow man. Thank you so much for
choosing this spiritual resource in the development of your child’s
eternity.
The Bible faculty understands the gravity of our ministry. You not
only have entrusted us with your children but also with a partial
responsibility to assist them in their pursuit of God. Therefore, we
pledge first to God, who gave us the 66 inspired and infallible books
constituting the Old and New Testaments, that we will be faithful to
His word. We will not use man-made creeds or catechisms to
indoctrinate your children; rather, the Bible will be the basis of our
instruction. Furthermore, to the students, we vow that we will teach
the Word of God in context with objective integrity. Our goal will not
be to lure a child from his religious heritage, but rather to point
him to scripture where his religious views can formulate and find
their only solid basis. Finally to you, as parents, we promise to
supplement the spiritual training of your son or daughter rather than
compete with or undermine it.
Given the fact that ACS has more than a dozen different denominational
groups represented, we recognize that there may be times when there is
disagreement, but we will refrain from being disagreeable.
Furthermore, while each Bible teacher will organize his own
instructional material around his personal investigation of Scripture,
he will refrain from dogmatism and remain open to further Bible study
on any given matter. In the event that a disagreement arises, the
teacher will make himself available to the student and his family for
further discussion. The teacher will moreover point the student to
other resources for additional research on the subject under
discussion (the student’s local youth minister, pastor or parents,
additional books, helpful Internet sites, etc.).
Again, thank you so much for your confidence in ACS and for your
willingness to allow the Bible faculty to instruct your children. We
look forward to partnering with you in your child’s spiritual
development. We believe, as the Bible asserts (Ecclesiastes 4:12), “a
cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Therefore, when your
family, your church, and the faculty and staff at ACS partner together
in the spiritual training of your child, a strong cord not easily
broken will be available to your children.
