Coach
"Lady" Grooms has been named as coach of the
Arlington Christian School Girls' Varsity and Junior Varsity
basketball teams for the 2007-08 season. As the new coach
for these teams, ACS Athletic Director, Greg Cannon, has
indicated that we should have an exciting winter basketball
season.It is a blessing to add Coach Grooms to the Arlington
Christian School athletic department as the Varsity and
Junior Varsity girls coach. Coach Grooms will be assisting in the boys
program as well.
About Coach Grooms
"Lady" Grooms began her collegiate career at the
University of Georgia.
As a 1992 graduate of the University of Georgia, Grooms led
the Bulldogs to three NCAA tournament appearances, including
the 1991 Southeastern Conference Championship and was named
to the All-SEC team all four years.

Coach Grooms was a member of
the Sacramento Monarchs in the WNBA for seven seasons
(1998-2004) and was a member of the Utah Starzz for the
first year of the WNBA (1997).
In her eight years in the WNBA, Grooms played in 245 games with 4,432 minutes, scored
1,117 points and grabbed 503 rebounds. She has advanced to
WNBA playoffs with the Monarchs on five occasions and has
recorded career-highs of 16 points (twice), eight rebounds
(twice), six assists (twice), three steals (several times)
and two blocks
(twice).
Coach Grooms
still is active as a scout for the WNBA and with the
Monarchs. She performs player evaluations during the summers
months.
